What if a solar-powered pole could light up a village, charge phones, and preach the gospel all at the same time?
Sounds impossible, but that’s exactly what is happening in rural Ghana, thanks to the Mission Pole project.
The Mission Pole is a solar-powered marvel - part streetlight, Wi-Fi hub, radio, and phone charger — and a tireless preacher.
By day, it offers free Wi-Fi where villagers download Bibles, worship songs, and practical resources in their own language. It also broadcasts Christian radio programmes, and at night, it lights up communal spaces, vital in areas without electricity.
The pole draws people towards Jesus, with entire villages seeing dramatic change. In one village, where once half the people were Muslim and half were Christian, more than 75% now follow Christ. The Mission Pole brings light, hope, and the gospel to unreached communities.
Our vision is to plant 100 Mission Poles over the next five years. One pole costs around £5,500 to build and install, and running costs are just £1.50 per day - that's around £45 for a whole month.
