To improve rural primary health care capacity and quality while building lasting relationships with local healthcare workers/trainers through mentoring and clinical training. In partnership with national medical education institutions, we train, encourage and equip local family medicine doctors (including residents), nurses and community health workers (mid-level providers) in areas outside the capital. In-person trainings include onsite clinical mentoring of young healthcare workers at rural clinics, and training trainers at regional and national seminars. Online trainings include case reviews, faculty development topics and research skills. Experience with clinical teaching is helpful but not required. Meaningful interaction with mentees is a priority, so language and cultural learning are required.

Opportunities to work in a local mission hospital with a small surgical and inpatient capacity. Opportunities to work with the local healthcare services on medical caravans to the remote Amazonian communities with limited healthcare access.
