From Everywhere, to Everywhere!

Written by Martin Harrison, International Ministry Lead

Christianity is growing fast in poorer, developing countries, sometimes called ‘the Global South’. And this is changing how mission work is done.

Churches in the North are no longer the only ones sending help, and the Global South is not just receiving it. Instead, world mission is now a shared effort—"from everywhere, to everywhere!"

To do this well, we in the north need to stop thinking that the Northern church is stronger or more important. Instead, we should trust and learn from each other, sharing resources and experiences.

We are all one big Christian family—celebrating wins together and helping each other through hard times.

A great example is Reach Beyond’s work in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our staff train local pastors and churches to install and fix water wells. As a result, new churches start, even in places where it’s dangerous to be a Christian.

Reach Beyond provides technical skills, and local Christians bring their faith and knowledge of the culture. By working together, we reach people in ways neither could alone.

Many Christians in the Global South face challenges, but they also have so much to give. True mission work is not about one side helping the other - it’s about serving together as one family in Christ.

As we do this, the gospel will go EVERYWHERE!
