SERVE REFUGEES IN ATHENS 2027

Short-term mission trips for medical professionals, builders, labourers and prayers

Overview

Join Reach Beyond for a 7-to-10-day trip to Athens, Greece in 2027, where refugees from across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia have gathered seeking safety and a new beginning. You’ll come alongside local believers and ministry workers who are faithfully serving refugees day in and day out, as they offer medical care, emotional support, and the hope of Christ.

These trips are planned to serve our partners based in Athens and the surrounding areas to help out when they need it most.

What You’ll Do

Participants will be involved in one or more of the following activities:

  • Offer basic medical care and wellness support to refugees in partnership with local ministries
  • Help the ongoing development of a horticultural project to provide food, training and work for refugees
  • Assist with various building projects: upgrading the medical centre to achieve Greek government standards, converting an apartment for missionaries, building a workshop for woodwork training
  • Provide various craft skills to young mothers
  • Encourage and pray with long-term workers serving refugees every day
  • Visit local outreach areas and learn about ongoing ministry efforts in Athens
  • Build relationships through conversations, shared meals, and listening to stories
  • Reflect daily as a team on what God is teaching you about His heart for the nations

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome adults of all skills and ages. Professional and retired professional people are always welcome, but we have seen God work through people in the most extraordinary and unexpected ways, even when they did not bring a specific trade or profession.

We need people who are:

  • Compassionate and flexible
  • Team-oriented and teachable
  • Willing to listen, encourage, and serve, however needed

Why Athens?

Athens has become a crossroads of cultures, a city where the nations are literally on the doorstep of Europe. Refugees arrive here carrying deep trauma, loss, and hope for a future. The local church is responding with compassion, and this trip is a chance to walk beside them, learn from them, and offer tangible support.
